Job Description:
Reporting to the School Principal, this position is responsible for providing Cree language instruction as directed by the School Principal in alignment with KTCEA’s Cree language programs and objectives.
Qualifications:
- A minimum 2-3 years experience providing school-based verbal and written instruction in the Cree language, supplemented by training in instructional methods/techniques. Equivalent combinations of training and experience will be considered
- Fluency in Cree (both verbal and written) essential
- A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture, organizations, and communities
- Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, parents and community members
- Experience in a land-based education environment an asset
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational abilities
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other applications as required by the role
